Tucker Marberry has accepted an appointment to the United States Naval Academy and will report on June 30 for Induction Day.
The Academy is the four-year undergraduate college of the naval service, where midshipmen graduate with a bachelor of science degree and receive a commission as an officer in the Navy or Marine Corps.
Tucker also received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, an appointment to the United States Coast Guard Academy, was awarded a four-year NROTC scholarship to a civilian university and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America in November.
Appointments to the military academies are based on high achievement in academics, leadership, extracurricular activities, community service and physical fitness. Application begins in the spring of the junior year of high school. A nomination from the student’s U.S. congressman or U.S. senator is required.
