Seth Robison of Clifton, wrote an essay on George Washington’s Farewell Address and won a week-long, expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. The national essay contest is affiliated with the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. This trip to Washington D.C. will allow Seth to embark on investigating with other students different areas of government in our nation’s capital. The Washington Workshops Foundation gives students the opportunity to learn about the Congress, Embassies, Supreme Court, and Executive agencies with Members of Congress and other government officials.
Seth’s essay admonished the genesis of political parties and pointed out that Washington said no large group of people can ever be totally satisfied, there will always be common likes and dislikes, and we must join together to undo damage caused by these enemies. He pointed out we would eventually lose our motto and beliefs if we don’t unite together.
THSC would like to congratulate Seth in this achievement! We are proud of the leadership portrayed in the next generation of home school students.
