The Gala will serve to raise support and awareness for the work of THSC on behalf of you, Texas parents, and Texas families. Our one of our major focuses will be the fight to reform a judiciary that has, outside the confines of the law, become increasingly antagonistic toward parents. Children torn from their families are ultimately paying the price for this abuse of power and the tide must be turned. THSC invites you to stand with us in the effort to impact our state today and for generations to come.
How will THSC fight for families on judicial reform and the abuse of power?
- The Next Generation of Leaders Put Boots on the Ground
- Good Judges In and Bad Judges Out
- Suing the Government for Unconstitutional Intimidation
- Educating Attorneys and Judges about Parental Rights
- Electing Leaders who Support Parents and Families (THSC PAC)
- Restoring the Tutt Family and Fighting Back
Plans are underway to expand the Ranger Program to launch clubs around the state situated in key cities, counties, and districts. A major goal of the Ranger Clubs will be to see 5,000 new Texas voters register in 2016 who will elect candidates who support the freedom for parents to raise and teach their own children.
In order to extinguish the controversial and often unethical judicial activism that is pushing judges beyond their already extensive bounds of legal authority, THSC is establishing a vetting system to strategically place committees in major counties to vet and analyze the local judicial candidates and help get good judges on the bench.
Additionally, we will expand the Judicial Wall of Shame and identify and publicize illegal actions taking place behind courtroom doors. We’ll send the message that the activity of the judicial branch does not go unnoticed and that judges will be held accountable for the decisions that they make, especially decisions involving families and parental rights.
The Texas Ethics Commission (TEC) is illegally trying to force Texas citizens organized as nonprofit groups (like THSC) to engage in outrageously extensive reporting of political work. If this were to go unaddressed, THSC’s mission to Keep Texas Families Free would be substantially suppressed. This lawsuit, if successful, would ensure that the TEC would follow current state and federal laws and guidelines, and no longer be allowed to harass Texas non-profits with bogus allegations and lengthy and intrusive investigations, fines, and penalties.
A vital aspect of THSC’s work is training family law attorneys through our Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events. This training covers a broad range of parental rights issues. Our goal for expansion is to include training for local judges, as well. We are working to develop a network of conservative attorneys who can be counted on to defend the rights of Texans who are being unjustly deprived of their parental and home schooling rights.
One of the primary objectives of the THSC PAC is reforming the Texas House of Representatives, just as we helped reform the Texas Senate last election cycle. With the addition of five new conservative members in the Texas Senate, the way was paved for the efficient passage of conservative, pro-family, pro-home school legislation out of the Senate. It is time for the same improvements to be made in the House. THSC PAC plans to aid in reforming the Texas House in the next election cycle.
The Tutts are a family that is near and dear to our hearts at THSC, and we will continue to spread awareness of their case as we fight for the return of their final child, now in foster care for over 21 months. We hope to see the Texas Supreme Court weigh in on the case shortly and see the remaining child returned. Once this child is returned, THSC plans to file additional measures for the illegal actions that culminated in the removal of the Tutt’s seven children. THSC will not stop until we see that justice has been served on behalf of the Tutts and all Texas families.
These are just a few of the ways that participating in the THSC Gala and Fundraiser will benefit families, parents, and home schoolers all over the state. We hope that you will consider joining us on the weekend of November 7 at the Westin Memorial City in Houston.
Come. Bring your friends. Join in the effort to Keep Texas Families Free for generations to come.
