Legal Assistance

The Association’s full time staff gives prompt and vigorous attention to the needs of member families, intervening when they have been contacted by local or state government officials challenging the right of the family to home school.  Through phone calls and/or letters, they end the confrontation and confirm the rights of the parents.  (See samples of such letters in past weekly E-Newsletters.)

If these methods do not accomplish the desired results, THSC Association calls upon its legal counsel, Shelby Sharpe, to deal with the school district in the courts. Mr. Sharpe was the lead attorney in the Leeper v. Arlington class action suit, the case upon which the great home school law in Texas is based, so he is more than qualified to handle such problems!  (Meet Shelby Sharpe.)  Should such action become necessary, THSC Association will cover legal and court costs of member families in these situations.

Members also receive help when dealing with other officials about problems related to their home schooling. Often home educators must deal with bureaucrats and government officials who make decisions that could infringe upon their rights. THSC Association experiences great success in confirming home schoolers’ rights as it intervenes in these situations on behalf of its members.  

THSC Association is an advocacy organization {under IRS code section 501(c)(4), not an insurer.

Teacher and Student ID Cards

Laminated ID card, renewable annually, to be presented to various businesses that offer discounts to teachers. One per teacher and student in each member family.

Free Adult Registration

     Free adult registration/admission to the annual THSC State Convention and

     Family Conference ($15-20 value) Admission is for all days of the Convention

     and will provide admission to the exhibitors’ area and all workshops offered

     for adult attendees.

Worldview Academy Leadership Camps

     Worldview Academy Leadership Camps are week-long programs designed

     especially for homeschoolers who desire to become bold leaders in Truth and
