Meet Cheri Isett

Cheri Isett has homeschooled her seven children (now ranging in age from 20 to 3 years) since 1990.  Their teaching format has ranged from conventional subject and grade segregated methods following traditional scope and sequence to open free-schooling where there is complete integration of ages and subjects into “life-learning” activities. She serves on the board of the New Education Organization (NEO), a decentralized think tank whose mission is to promote learner-centered and personalized models of education through research and advocacy.  She is also founder, board member, and student advisor of Liberty Learning Center, a private high school whose mission is, in part, to provide a program where every student has the freedom and responsibility to design his own personalized high school plan.
