Meet Doug Sims

Doug Sims, his wife Tillery, and their four children live in Earth, Texas.  Doug and Tillery serve on the board of Integrity Home Educators, a support group for home schoolers in the Plainview area.  He has a heart to serve home schooling moms by encouraging fathers to become more involved with their families.  Doug ministers to the families in Integrity with a servant’s heart for individuals.  He offers a mentoring relationship with young men in the group and encourages them through Bible study and phone calls.  He also invites other fathers and sons to join him and his boys in community service projects.   

Doug and Tillery, a home school graduate, have been married for 15 years and began homeschooling nine years ago. Doug takes an active role in the education of his kids, John Lewis (14), Brandon (13), Mattie (12) and Reagan (9), by helping with math, teaching Bible and writing, and making the most of teachable moments with his children, such as their experience last year when Doug was called to jury duty.  Doug’s vision is to encourage fathers to take an active role in the lives of their children.
