THSC Leader of the Year

To show appreciation and to honor support group leaders in the Texas home school community who sacrificially give of their time and energy to serve home schoolers and to promote home education, the Texas Home School Coalition (THSC) has sponsored Home School Leader Appreciation Week in Texas for the last several years.

In conjunction with Home School Leader Appreciation Week in Texas, THSC has awarded the coveted Home School Leader of the Year award to outstanding leaders.  This award is based on testimonies by appreciative members of their groups. The process requires at least three members of the group to send letters in which they document why their leader(s), either an individual or a couple, should be selected the THSC Home School Leader of the Year.

THSC is now accepting nominations for the 2008 Home School Leader of the Year.  The support group leader/couple who is chosen will be invited to and honored at its annual Awards Banquet on April 11, 2008, in Houston.   To nominate a leader, please use form at the link below.

Nominations for THSC Leader of the Year must be received no later than March 21, 2008, April 1, 2008 (deadline has been extended!) accompanied by at least three letters of recommendation from different support group members.   (Hint: More letters of nomination carry more weight.)  Letters of recommendation should explain why this individual/couple should be nominated for Leader of the Year.  Only one leader/couple may be nominated per group.

The past Leaders of the Year include:

·   James and Lorena Nutting from HOPE of Hidalgo County (2001)

·   Mary James and Diane Broadway, co-founders of Smoothing the Way (2002)
