Free parking will be available as long as space lasts in the Town Center Parking Garage adjacent to the Convention Center and is expected to fill to capacity both Friday and Saturday mornings. Information about additional parking options will be added here. Check back soon for more details!
Exhibit Hall and Workshop Maps
Stay on-site at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center at the special rate of $149 per night! To make reservations, call (800) 262-1509 and mention Texas Home School Coalition. This special rate is good July 21 – July 29, 2014, depending on availability. Reservations must be made by July 7, 2014, to get the special rate, but rates are only good while rooms are available. For best results, make reservations early. Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance.
THSC Book Bags
Back by demand are the ever-popular THSC book bags! Convention-goers will receive one free bag per family at Convention while supplies last! (Not available to FREE Thursday Only attendees.)
Get a taste of Convention weekend with free shopping in the Exhibit Hall from 5-7 p.m. Thursday!
Sit back, relax, and enjoy two hours of free workshops from 7-9 p.m. Thursday! Choose from keynote sessions OR bring your friends who are interested in home schooling to the Getting Started Workshops.
Workshops are first-come, first-seated. Some workshops will fill up, so make sure to plan ahead for the best seating! You may need to arrive 30 minutes before popular workshops begin. All sessions are professionally recorded and available for purchase on-site and online after the Convention. Audio recording by attendees is not allowed.
Fussy or crying babies/children are required to be immediately removed from any speaking session or from the Exhibit Hall. If a child is disruptive, the parent is expected to, and may be asked to, leave the Workshop/Exhibit Hall to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the Convention.
If you or a family member will need an ASL interpreter, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will do our best to make that service available to you during Convention.
Nursing Mothers Room
Strollers are not allowed in any of the Workshops. Small, single strollers are permitted in the Exhibit Hall. Doublewide and side-by-side strollers are prohibited due to space constraints. If you feel you have a special circumstance that requires this type of stroller, you may email email@example.com to explain your situation and to request a special exception.
THSC, with counsel from law enforcement professionals, has a plan to ensure that Convention attendees are free to enjoy the weekend in a pleasant environment.
- Disruptive attendees within the conference will be promptly escorted out.
- Additional security measures have been initiated to provide for attendee peace of mind.
- Security measures are in place at the Children’s Program location.

Does my registration cover shopping and workshops?
Exhibit Hall admittance is included with General Admission, Teen, and Children’s Program Registrations. Attendees with General Admission Registrations do not need to purchase a Shopping Only Pass to enjoy the Exhibit Hall. Shopping Only Passes include admittance into the Exhibit Hall only and do not include admittance to workshops.
Do I have to preregister for the specific workshops I want to attend?
No. General Admission Registration includes admittance into all workshops and the Exhibit Hall. All workshops are first-come, first-seated and will be open as long as space lasts. Some workshops will fill to the maximum. For best results, plan ahead and arrive early. Workshop recordings will be available for purchase on-site.
How do I volunteer?
Visit our volunteer page for information about volunteering in exchange for free registration or just to serve other families alongside THSC.
When/how will I get my Add-On tickets?
For Pre-Registered and Early-Bird Registrants who register prior to June 10:
- Space Center Houston tickets will be post mailed to Early-Bird and Pre-Registered attendees on or before July 2.
- Field trip attendees will receive an email with field trip details and Check-In information.
- Links to complimentary coupons and discounts will be received in the attendee confirmation email sent immediately following Convention Registration online.
- All other Add-On tickets will be included in your on-site packet when you check in.
Those who register online after June 10 can simply pick up their tickets at Check-In on-site.
When will the schedule of the Convention be posted?
Scheduled workshops will be added to our Workshops page as they are available. Workshop times will be posted by July, after THSC has compiled the attendee preferences and planned room assignments to best accommodate attendees.
Which adults may attend free?
One spouse or grandparent may attend free with the first General Admission Registration. You will need to register the “free” spouse or grandparent by checking the “After 1st Adult: One FREE Spouse or Grandparent” option on Step 2 of the registration form.
When do Space Center Houston tickets expire?
Space Center Houston tickets are valid for one year.
What if I need to cancel my Convention registration?
We do not offer refunds, just as if you had purchased tickets to a concert or a ball game. You may transfer your registration to one other person or family for a $10 fee until July 11, 2014. After July 11, 2014, no registrations may be transferred. If you wish to transfer your registration to another person or family, please call THSC at (806) 744-4441, Ext. 0 with the transferee name, phone number, email, and credit card payment information.
