Read Tim's Bio
As an authority on home education and parental rights, Tim has testified before numerous Texas legislative committees. He regularly engages with state and federal government agencies, such as the Texas Education Agency, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and the Social Security Administration. He has testified as an expert witness on home education in various court cases, and was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on a parental rights advisory committee to Child Protective Services.
Tim has also been a leader in the Republican Party in Texas for more than 20 years, including representing Texas on the Republican National Committee from 1996 to 2004.
Tim holds a B.A. in political science from Texas Tech University and is passionate about protecting the fundamental constitutional right of parents to direct the care, control, and upbringing of their children.

In her time with THSC Stephanie has directed the organization and implementation of legal seminars, awards galas, Capitol Day events, and family conferences touching thousands of lives each year.
Stephanie now serves as the director of development for THSC, overseeing leadership support, supporter communications, and fundraising for the organization. She lives in Lubbock and serves in her church, reads, decorates, snowboards, and travels in her free time.

Nathan became a follower of Christ in 1982. He and his bride Susan have been married 32 years, and they have seven children from age 28 to age 14, four lovely children-in-law, and one beautiful granddaughter. Nathan and Susan have home educated their seven children for 23 years, using a multitude of curriculums and methods. They led a small support group while serving in the Air Force. Their children now serve in a variety of vocations, including a firefighter, political consultant, youth pastor, and photographer.

Beverly Parrish hosted Smoothing the Way meetings for new home schooling moms for eight years. She continues to support home schooling families by offering tutoring, and through her company Learn Your Way and the Davis Dyslexia Correction program. Beverly speaks on a variety of topics at THSC Conventions and other home school conferences.
Chris and Beverly began home schooling their seven children in 1990. Three of their sons are grown and married, and they have two granddaughters. Chris and Beverly served in leadership positions in CHEACT while living in Austin, and later in Houston they hosted informational library meetings for new home schoolers. Chris and Beverly love to encourage families in this great adventure of home schooling!

Karen Stroud treasures learning subjects again for the first time as she home schools her children, and encouraging other moms in their calling to shape the hearts and minds of future generations.
Don and Karen Stroud began home schooling their oldest child when she turned four. Blessed with four children, they are now in their 20th year. Their oldest daughter and son received National Merit Scholar ® and National Merit Commended ® designations, respectively, and both recently graduated from Texas A&M University with honors. Their younger two daughters are in high school and serve as attorneys and presiding judges in the Williamson County YMCA Teen Court, adjudicating real Class C misdemeanors.
Seventh and fifth generation Texans respectively, Don and Karen have a deep appreciation for the values of responsibility, independence, and the freedom of Texas parents to personally direct the education of their children. The Strouds are lifetime members of THSC.

Kyle is a board member of the Central Texas Chapter of Folds of Honor, a national non-profit in support of veterans. He is politically active as president of the Leon County Sub-Regional Planning Commission and as an advocate for Texas private property rights through a non-profit he co-founded. Kyle is a lifetime member of THSC, as well as a member of the THSC Advisory Committee.
