Christmas Wishes from THSC

ChristmasBellsThe Board of Directors and the staff of the Texas Home School Coalition wish you and yours the most blessed of Christmases! May you have a wonderful time with family and friends, and may Christ reign in your hearts as we all celebrate His birth!

We share with you the following poem and we hope that the heartfelt words minister to you as they have to us.

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

Till ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bowed my head
"There is no peace on earth," I said,
"For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men."

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men."

Editor's note: Yes, we know that we've featured this article before, but we think it's worth repeating. So get a cup of coffee, sit down, relax, and enjoy!

Georgia Bailey sighed as she pulled out of the parking lot of the coffeehouse. Mom's Night Out meant so much to her and encouraged her tremendously as a home schooling mom, but sometimes these gatherings left her feeling so inadequate. Everyone seemed to have it so together! Their home schools always seemed to run so smoothly! What was wrong with her? As she began the long drive home, she considered her own family.
