Serving Texas Home Schoolers for Over 20 Years July 10, 2007
Special Needs Addressed at Convention

Arnolds1THSC is excited to bring you the 2007 THSC State Convention & Family Conference on August 16-18 in The Woodlands. You won't want to miss out on a weekend packed with quality exhibitors and inspiring speakers.  Joining our keynote speakers (Andrew Pudewa, Debra Bell, and John Erickson), Doug and Patsy Arnold will be there to bless attendees again this year.

Doug and Patsy Arnold are educators with a mission. Doug is currently a special education teacher at a middle school in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Patsy taught high school Spanish for 13 years before leaving in 1998 to homeschool their children. Their middle child has been disabled since infancy. Through many experiences of God's grace as they have worked with their son, the Arnolds have learned much about working with children who have different learning needs. As a result, they have begun a ministry to families with special needs children, called Texas ' Special Kids. (Click on picture.) This year, the Arnolds will present the practical workshop, "Students in their Right Minds: Strategies for Non-Traditional Learners." They will also facilitate a special fellowship on Saturday afternoon for families with special needs children.

Don't miss out on the retail therapy offered in the carpeted Exhibit Hall full of quality exhibitors. Your teens will love the Teen Staff Program {TSP}, which will be fun and educational and complete with workshops, activities, and fellowship-they won't want to miss it!  But hurry!  The TSP registration is only available, while space lasts, through July 13 and will not be offered for onsite registration.

The Advance Registration deadline is July 13. Mark your calendar to be in The Woodlands at the 2007 THSC State Convention and Family Conference on August 16-18. Call toll-free (888) 200-4903 or complete and fax an Advance Registration form.

CLEP Out of College?
CLEP Out of College?

graduation

CLEP out of the first year of college? Save your parents a full year's worth of college costs? It sounds great, and it can be done in Texas-to a certain degree (pun intended).

What is CLEP?

The College Level Examination Program® (CLEP) provides students of any age with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement through a program of exams in undergraduate college courses.

In other words, CLEP tests enable a student to take an exam that tests his knowledge in a subject he has studied at the college level. Doing so proves that the student knows the course content and therefore does not need to take the class that teaches that material again.
