Continuing Legal Education Seminar July 20 Deadline Approaching

scalesTHSC is once again joining the Family Rights Foundation in offering a free Continuing Legal Education seminar on Defending the Family Against CPS, this time in the Dallas area, July 27, in Las Colinas.  Speakers will be THSC President Tim Lambert, Family Rights Foundation President Chris Branson, and attorney Paul Stuckle. Attendees will receive 4.0 MCLE hours.

Responding to the urgent need for the legal defense and advocacy of families against false Child Protective Services (CPS) allegations, Texas Home School Coalition has launched an effort to build a network of attorneys who are willing to help.  THSC is therefore offering FREE registration in exchange for an agreement to handle one pro bono CPS case that is referred by THSC or the Family Rights Foundation.

If you are an attorney and are interested in attending, be sure to register by July 20 to guarantee a seat at this important and informative event.  Feel free to pass along this invitation to any family-friendly attorney that you may know.  For additional information, click on the graphic.

DPS Responds to THSC Letter

timOn June 8, Tim Lambert wrote a letter to the Katy office of the Department of Public Safety (DPS), in which he said that he was urging the state office to investigate Katy's practices in dealing with parents who are homeschooling. Over the course of several years, the Katy office has established a pattern of hindering local home schoolers as they try to obtain driver licenses, permits and identification cards.

On June 20, THSC received a response from the state DPS office, which assured us that the matter will be investigated.

Dads, if you are a home school parent reading this article, then your wife is amazing. Now, how do I know that? Well, first she puts up with you (just kidding). Second, she is working with God to make your kids everything He wants them to be, and she does not charge you a thing for that service. I think that makes her amazing. A couple of years ago, I realized how easy I had it as a home school dad because of my amazing wife. That realization bothered me a whole lot.

Monday through Friday, I would ramble off to the office and spend about nine hours a day building things, participating in fulfilling projects, going to lunch with my buddies, and receiving recognition for my diligent efforts. On weekends, I would spend my day playing with the kids and participating in some fulfilling power-tool projects.

Meanwhile, ...

Be Prepared!
