Announcing Convention Advance Registration
 Forgot to pre-register for the 2007 THSC State Convention and Family Conference? Wishing you could have taken care of it in advance and sorry that you missed out on the Thursday field trip to the George Ranch Historical Park? THSC has opened Advance Registration just for people like you!
What is Advance Registration?
Although the pre-registration prices are no longer available, by registering in advance you can still get discount tickets to area attractions, save time and money by ordering on-site lunches, and you'll get to use the pre-registration line when you arrive! Sign up for the Thursday field trip to George Ranch Historical Park, or register your teen for the Teen Staff Program, but hurry, advance registration ends July 13! Teen Staff Program

Helpful Videos Make Home Schooling Easier
 THSC offers several videos to help you on your home education journey. If you are just getting started, take a look at Ready, Set,...Now What Do I Do?. Tim and Lyndsay Lambert answer questions about where to get curricula, whether or not bulletin boards are necessary, how to teach several grade levels at once, and is this LEGAL?! You can take deep breath and relax as they guide your first steps on this exciting adventure.
Are your children teenagers? You may be interested in hearing about an alternative to dating. In Courtship-One Family's Perspective, Tim, Lyndsay, their son, Peter, and his wife, Rita, share their experiences and ideas about this "new" way for young people to find spouses, while keeping their purity intact. What is a PE'AH Card?
 Among the benefits of being a THSC member is an $8 discount on the PE'AH (pay' uh) card. This professional-looking ID card allows you to receive educator discounts quickly and easily. PE'AH is constantly working to obtain discounts on behalf of all home educators and to provide additional opportunities to help enrich the education of home schooled children.

THSC Offering Continuing Legal Education Seminar
 THSC is once again joining the Family Rights Foundation in offering a free Continuing Legal Education seminar on Defending the Family Against CPS, July 27, in Las Colinas. If you are an attorney and are interested in attending, be sure to register by July 20 to guarantee a seat at this important and informative event.
Responding to the urgent need for the legal defense and advocacy of families against false Child Protective Services (CPS) allegations, Texas Home School Coalition has launched an effort to build a network of attorneys who are willing to help. THSC is therefore offering FREE registration in exchange for an agreement to handle one pro bono CPS case which is referred by THSC or the Family Rights Foundation.
Speakers will be THSC President Tim Lambert, Family Rights Foundation President Chris Branson, and attorney Paul Stuckle. Attendees will receive 4.0 MCLE hours.

Two Different Home Schooling Experiences: New York and Texas
"I homeschooled each of my kids for a couple of years - my son when we lived in New York, my daughter when we lived in Texas - and the vast differences make it clear that anyone who is considering homeschooling should first check out their own state's specific laws and policies.
