And then what about algebra? Yes, a few outside

Legal Assistance...Just in Case

While Texas home schoolers continue to gain respect
and more freedoms, there will probably always be a
few people who do not recognize parents’ rights to
personally educate their children. That is why the
Texas Home School Coalition Association offers legal
assistance under the guidance of Attorney Shelby
Sharpe, who successfully sued the state in the
Leeper v. Arlington ISD landmark case that clarified
home schools in Texas are private schools.

In the News: High School – Real Life?

You have probably heard it before. “If you choose to
not enroll your child in the public high school, then
they will miss out on the wonderful ‘real world’
experiences their peers will have.” In her opinion
column published in the July 27 issue of the Gilroy
Dispatch, Cynthia Walker debunks this mainstream
myth.
“Just Don’t Ever Mistake High School for Real
Life.”
“… I do not think that school life bears more than a
fleeting resemblance to real life.
Where in real life is one's day broken up by bells? In
prison, perhaps, and the more poorly-run factories.
Where in real life does one spend one's day with 30
other persons of exactly one's own age and one
much older authority figure? Nowhere. “
