HOMESCHOOL CUB SCOUTS COLLECT WAGONLOADS FOR KATRINA VICTIMS

Houston, TX — September 8, 2005 — Homeschool Cub Scouts Pack 164, Den 2 members Ryland Hartman and Chris Wilson (Wolf Cubs) picked up four wagons filled to overflowing with donations on Labor Day in the Copperfield Subdivision in northwest Houston. Their den conducted a food drive to collect non-perishable food, toiletries, and cleaning items for victims of Hurricane Katrina at their den meeting on Tuesday—with additional donations brought in by Den 2 members Will Bates, Daniel Evans, Aaron Johnson, Joseph Jordana, Kyle Kitchen, and Calvin Ontiveros, who are all also homeschooled. The donations were taken to the Houston Food Bank on Wednesday. These scouts plan on conducting additional food drives throughout the fall, as the needs in our community will surely continue. We want to thank the generosity of those Copperfield residents who graciously provided the needed supplies.
