Evans-Novak Political Report
While our seat-by-seat analysis shows Democrats
winning the House by a four-seat margin, the
overriding question is whether a "wave" will deliver a
really big Democratic majority. That presumes an
overwhelming sentiment that negates seat-by-seat
analyses.

Republican Motivation

In recent days and weeks, the mainstream media
have repeatedly claimed that the Republican base is
suffering from "low voter enthusiasm." It is easy to
believe a story that is repeated so frequently, but in
fact there is ample evidence to the contrary. By
many measures, there are strong indications of a
right-of-center base that is engaged and committed.

Election 2006: What is Means to the Traditional Family

At this moment in our nation's history, the traditional
family is under attack from every angle we can
imagine. Secular worldviews are being taught as
absolute fact in our public schools to impressionable
children and most parents don't even realize the
unspeakable subjects being talked about in today's

Silencing Faith

The Catholic Church is once again in the crosshairs of
the radical Left for endorsing church teaching on
traditional marriage. The Diocese of Madison,
Wisconsin, is facing a potential investigation and
fines by a state agency over a flier distributed to
church members on October 8th. The church's
offense: The flier supported a proposed
constitutional amendment defining marriage as the
union of one man and one woman.

Survivor! The Gop Victory

Jubilant Democrats should reconsider their order for
confetti and noisemakers. The Democrats, as widely
reported, are expecting GOP-weary voters to flock to
the polls in two weeks and hand them control of the
House for the first time in 12 years -- and perhaps
the Senate, as well. Even some Republicans privately
confess that they are anticipating the election-day
equivalent of Little Big Horn. Pardon our hubris, but
we just don't see it.
