Overall, I thought President Bush's State of the Union address last night was good - especially when it came to Iraq. And I strongly encourage the administration to continue its defense of the president's new strategy. Before getting to his Iraq policy, President Bush took a few moments to remind his audience about our enemy:

  • Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki had a surprise for President Bush when they sat down with their aides in the Four Seasons Hotel in Amman, Jordan. • Give School Choice and Texas Kids a Fair Chance
  • What can possibly be wrong with letting low-income parents use their tax dollars to save their children from failing schools in Texas' largest cities? As has been proven in San Antonio over the past ten years where Dr. Jim Leininger and others have funded $50 million of scholarships to low-income minority students, nine of ten of these first-come, first-served students went on to college on their families’ own dime.
