According to recent reports, Governor Perry is
preparing to appoint a new chairman of the State
Board of Education (SBOE) to a two year term.
According to these reports one of those under
consideration for this position is SBOE member Don
McLeroy from College Station. Don McLeroy has been
a long-time friend and staunch supporter of home
schooling and home school freedom and has
attended several home school conferences.

outstanding
and fair leader of that body. It is not necessary to
identify yourself as a home schooler when you call. It
is always beneficial to have a friend of home
schooling in positions of leadership and authority.

Meet Fred Thompson in Houston and Dallas

Republican National Committeewoman for Texas
Denise McNamara has sent this invitation for home
schoolers to meet potential presidential candidate
Fred Thompson at airport rallies in Houston and
Dallas on July 25th. Former Republican Senator Fred
Thompson of Tennessee is vying for the lead in many
polls among Republican contenders with former New
York Mayor Rudy Guliani and is considered by many
political observers to have the most consistent and
conservative record of the top tier candidates. This
will be a great "Good Citizenship" opportunity for home
schoolers to meet a potential presidential candidate.
