Webinar - Ask Tim Lambert

On Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m., THSC President Tim Lambert talked about THSC’s legislative agenda for 2015 and our progress thus far. He also answered questions from you about the bills we are promoting.

Below is a summary of what Tim discussed in the webinar:

Harmful Bills THSC Has Stopped

We discussed several bills that THSC has worked to prevent which would have harmed parental rights.

ECO (Equal College Opportunity) Bill

The Equal College Opportunity bill that THSC is supporting, filed by Sen. Larry Taylor, will end discrimination against home school students in the college admissions process.

TPRRA

The Texas Parental Rights Restoration Act will close a loophole in the Grandparents Access Statute to protect single parents from lawsuit abuse.

Tim Tebow Bill

The Tim Tebow bill will allow home school students to participate in UIL extracurricular activities through their local public school.

For each of these bills, Tim Lambert gave an overview of what the bill does and discussed the progress that THSC has achieved so far. Tim then answered questions from listeners about each bill. Please watch the recording of the Webinar above: this is a great opportunity to get up-to-date information on what THSC is doing at the Capitol, and to hear the answers to questions you have about the issues in which we are involved.
