Sunday morning I had the rare opportunity to sit at the kitchen table with my husband and enjoy a cup of coffee and quiet conversation before getting ready for church. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a quickly moving shadow. Upon closer inspection, I discovered a small mother cottontail preparing a home in some bushes under a tree outside our dining room window. For almost 30 minutes we watched together as she carefully selected a mixture of grass, sticks, and leaves. Her time spent in preparation will ultimately affect the upbringing and safety of her young.
Much like the mother rabbit, many of us who home school have been making preparations of our own. We have been busy selecting curricula, readying our classrooms and bookshelves, and making decisions that will affect the upbringing of our own litters. As a support group leader, your time has probably also been spent updating membership forms, sprucing up your website, and getting co-op classes running smoothly. By October, most everyone will have readied their nests and will be in full swing.
The same holds true for our THSC family. We are excited to announce that our preparations include an addition to the THSC Convention in The Woodlands. We’ve added the THSC Arlington Convention to the Dallas-Fort Worth area! We are continuing to update our database of Texas Home School Support Groups and to provide leaders with the tools they need for success. Most important is our commitment to Keeping Texas Families Free.
In the very near future each support group listed in our database will receive an email confirming the information we have listed for them. An opportunity to make changes to this information will be included. To see if your group is listed with THSC, simply see the link below. Help us spread support across the state by keeping your group’s information current.
Can’t find your group? Encourage your leadership to register at the link below or contact Kay at firstname.lastname@example.org.
May God richly bless your efforts!
