When a home school student’s Social Security benefits were dropped despite his family’s full compliance with Texas home school laws, the member family contacted THSC requesting help. THSC President Tim Lambert responded with a letter to the Social Security Administration, informing the agency of the necessary and rightful continuation of benefits.
The truth of the matter is that not every organization is clear on Texas home school laws. As the advocacy organization for the state of Texas, THSC acts as a liaison with state and federal agencies with regard to issues related to home education. In fact, the state department of education, the Texas Education Agency (TEA), refers calls received by that agency regarding home education to the Coalition for verification or resolution.
Since 1986, THSC has fought to Keep Texas Families Free. You can rest assured, THSC will stand by members to continue protecting the rights of home school families. Is your home school family protected? Donate or become a member today.
