Back in the fall of 2014, Bryan Leines ventured into his life as a college student at Patrick Henry College. He couldn’t have done so without the support of THSC’s Patrick Henry Scholarship:
Prior to receiving the award, I contemplated taking a gap year to work and save for school, and if I had decided to come anyway, my student loan debt would have been substantially larger. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to come to Patrick Henry directly after high school, as it has brought me into the next stage of my life and walk with Christ.
Bryan entered his college years cautiously, but after some time in an environment of “. . . great professors, stellar classes, and a prime education with 300 believers,” he came out of his shell. Bryan explains, “The amounts of Christlike love, genuine care for others, and random acts of service are truly unique to this school.” He chose this school not simply because of the great opportunity and education, but because “No one is just a number here, and it’s difficult to get lost in the crowd. That is the true benefit that Patrick Henry offers to its students, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to experience this environment for my college career.”Check it out: Scholarship for Home School Graduate #homeschool #PatrickHenryCollege Click To Tweet
Do you know of a student looking for a college that will spur him or her on to great learning as well as a continued and flourishing walk with Christ? As a recipient of the Patrick Henry Scholarship, Bryan has been provided an experience that many home school families dream of for their children:
Finally, Patrick Henry has spurred the best two years (so far) of spiritual growth that I’ve ever had because of the constant focus from professors and students on making sure my relationship with God is the primary focus of my life. Every class, numerous conversations, wing chapel and congregational chapel, strongly encouraged church attendance, and being immersed in a group of people growing together in the Lord has enhanced my walk with Christ better than any other place could have done. Our professors and student life facilitate spiritual growth, and watching those around me love God even more than they love other people is both encouraging and challenging. I know I’ll graduate a stronger Christian than I began. The experience of Patrick Henry College is completely unparalleled in the post high school academic world, and I am proud to attend a place where loving God and others are exemplified in every respect.
