“State of the State: What Leaders Need to Know”
Join fellow homeschool group leaders and Tim Lambert for this candid perspective and review of current and potential issues impacting homeschooling families in the great state of Texas. Tim will also address the national onslaught against homeschooling brought on by a horrific abuse case in California, and will discuss what leaders can do to prepare for such possible actions in Texas.
Tim Lambert is president of the Texas Home School Coalition, the largest state advocacy organization for homeschool families in the country. Tim has been instrumental as a leader for more than 30 years in developing the homeschool community into a recognized political force in Texas.
As an authority on home education and parental rights, Tim has testified before numerous Texas legislative committees. He regularly engages with state and federal government agencies, such as the Texas Education Agency, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and the Social Security Administration. He has testified as an expert witness on home education in various court cases and was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on a parental rights advisory committee to Child Protective Services.
Tim has also been a leader in the Republican Party of Texas for more than 20 years; he represented Texas on the Republican National Committee from 1996 to 2004.
Tim holds a bachelor’s in political science from Texas Tech University and is passionate about protecting the fundamental constitutional right of parents to direct the care, control, and upbringing of their children.
