Judge Timothy WrightIn America, nobody is above the law. In a statement made to reporters in May, former Williamson County Judge Timothy Wright agreed, “I sincerely apologize to my family, friends and the people of Williamson County for any discredit or embarrassment I may have created as a result of my actions.”

In a recent case, Judge Timothy Wright of Williamson County Court at Law Place 2 was convicted of illegal arms trading and sentenced to 18 months in federal prison. According to prosecutors, Wright sold more than 60 guns between June 2014 and March 2015 without a federal license, many of the weapons being sold to felons or illegal aliens and some ending up in Mexico. In March Wright’s home was raided, leading to his arrest about a week afterward. In May, Wright plead guilty to the charges in court and resigned his bench.

As reported by Breitbart Texas, U.S. Attorney Richard Durbin Jr. said in a DOJ statement, “While sworn to uphold the law, Judge Timothy Wright repeatedly violated federal laws governing the sale of firearms. He falsified official firearms records to hide the true identity of the real buyer and then lied to federal investigators about his crimes. These are serious crimes for which he has been held accountable.”
